Our names are Michael O'Malley and Joseph Neyman, and we started Dorm Room Selving in hopes of having a fun summer job of being self-employed and gaining some business experience in the process. Little did we know, it would turn into much more than that!
As a student studying Finance and a student studying Building Science, we started our first year by building the shelves ourselves, and with hopes only to break-even and learn everything we could about owning and operating a company. Sales exploded our first year, and through customer support and insight we have been able to continually modify our business model to bring our customers what is now Dorm Room Shelving. Our shelves are now built by a professional supplier to ensure great quality and delivered from our hands straight to the rooms of our customers. Our team has more than doubled and is continually expanding to maintain our current growth.
Our original mission as university students and business owners was to continue to grow and develop as businessmen, earn support for ourselves while still in school, and ultimately present our customers with an opportunity to obtain a high-quality shelving unit for their dorm room with the greatest satisfaction possible.
Our current mission has evolved, yet remains rooted from our original goals of founding this business: As university alumni and bussiness owners, we hope to empower students, who stand in the same shoes we did several years ago, to grow and develop into business leaders, provide an opportuniuty for students to earn support while still in school, and ultimately present our customers an opportunity to obtain high-quality products for their dorm room with the greatest satisfaction possible.
